Career & Calling & Your Student

Career & Calling & Your Student

Career Fairs are a great way for HCU students and alumni to connect with recruiters and employers. At HCU, all students/alumni are welcome and encouraged to attend any Career Fair. The industry-focused Career Fairs foster a unique perspective for both students and employers. Freshman students all the way through Grad School-level students should network with employers on campus, as these individuals want to hire Huskies!

This Fall HCU has three industry-focused Career Fairs:

  • Nursing & Healthcare Career Fair: Friday, September 21, 2018, 10am-1pm (Hinton Center)
  • Business, Accounting, & Marketing: Thursday, September 27, 2018, Noon-3pm (McNair Hall)
  • Education & Government Career Fair: Monday, November 5, 2018, Noon-3pm (McNair Hall)

In preparation for Career Fairs, students may visit The Office of Career Calling for a variety of pre-event professional development. Résumés and practice interviewing are popular reasons to meet with a Career Advisor. We can connect HCU students with non-profit organizations (Dress for Success Houston & Career Gear), that help our students make a great first impression with a professional suit. The Office of Career & Calling will be hosted a pre-Career Fair “Résumé & Mock Interview Clinic” on Tuesday, September 18 from 4-6pm in the Hinton Center lobby. Students will be able to network with recruiters/employers and have instant feedback on résumés and/or interview skills. This is a great way to prepare for the upcoming Career Fairs at HCU!
