Gallery 220

Gallery 220 is a 450 square foot exhibition space located off the Foyer of the University Academic Center.

Laura Kreft, Director, Fine Arts Museum and Assistant Professor, curates the exhibits for Gallery 220, as well as supervising the installations, which are done by HBU students taking Gallery and Museum Practices at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. This practical course offers HBU students experience in wrapping and transporting artwork, proper installation procedures, knowledge of mounting and framing hardware and basic lighting of artwork. Additionally, lectures in art historical periods leading to the development of major museums worldwide are studied in this course which includes private tours of area galleries and museums.

One of our MFA candidates, Seth Miller, has received an Internship at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston in the Conservation and Framing Department using the skills he learned in the Gallery and Museum Practices classes here at HBU.
