On January 27, Dr. Diana Severance, director of the Dunham Bible Museum, was interviewed by Chris Arnzen on “Iron Sharpens Iron” about her book A Cord of Three Strands: Three Centuries of Christian Love Letters.
The book follows the lives of men and women who served in public positions, such as soldiers, martyrs, and pastors, through their love letters. Letters by Thomas J. and Mary Anna Jackson; John and Margaret Winthrop; Henry Martyn and Lydia Grenfell; Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Maria von Wedemeyer; Christopher and Margaret Love; John and Mary Newton; and Charles and Susannah Spurgeon are included.
