ADELANTE Scholarship Application

Project ADELANTE is a five-year project funded by the Office of English Language Acquisition in the U.S. Department of Education (Award #T365Z160177). Project ADELANTE provides partial tuition scholarships to help pre-service teachers or currently certified teachers earn bilingual education or ESL certification. Students applying to the Post-Baccalaureate certification, M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction, or M.Ed. in Bilingual Education may be eligible. Non-degree seeking students who already hold a Texas educator certification may also be eligible if they have not earned bilingual or ESL certification. Apply today!

  • List any honors, awards or recognitions you have received.
  • Describe your experiences with diverse cultures, people or languages. This could include community involvement, travels, teaching experiences or life experiences that relate to language, language learning, culture or people whose first language is not English.
  • Letter of Introduction

    Prepare a letter to the ADELANTE Scholarship Committee introducing yourself and addressing the following questions: What are your professional goals? How will the ADELANTE scholarship help you attain your professional goals? Why do you want to teach English learners in either bilingual or ESL education?
