  • First-Generation Success Program

    First Gen logoHBU offers a unique high caring environment to all of its students.

    The First Generation Success Program is specifically designed to serve as a resource and community for first generation students.
    Once you are accepted into the program you will have the opportunity to take advantage of the many resources and events designed specifically for you like: Social events, Cultural events, Peer Mentoring, and Monthly Lunch-N-Learns

    If you are an incoming first generation student you may also be interested in our Gen 1 Summer Bridge Program which is a cost-free program made just for you.

  • Gen 1 Summer Bridge

    2The Gen 1 Summer Bridge Program is a cost-free program that is available to incoming first generation students.

    The goal of the program is to offer incoming first generation students the opportunity to become more familiar with the campus, make new friendships with other first generation students, develop academic and social skills, and experience cultural events throughout the greater Houston area.

    Students will have the opportunity to hear from and be encouraged by HBU upperclassmen who are first generation students themselves.
