Rex Fleming Players

The Rex Fleming Players is a student theater troupe at Houston Baptist University. Our goal is to work with the university and the community in order to entertain others to the best of our ability. We allow total student involvement from acting to writing and directing, as well as technical support, all with guidance from a faculty advisor.

The Rex Fleming Players also promotes friendship and camaraderie among students from a variety of majors and classifications. We produce one fully-staged play per year along with the perennial Play In a Day. Our greatest performance opportunities come in the form of our improv shows. Multiple Friday nights per semester we put on a showcase of club members performing short-format performances based on audience suggestions. Every show is unique, and it’s the best entertainment you’ll find in all of Houston for $1.Screen Shot 2016-04-05 at 9.21.08 AM

The Rex Fleming Players also host a weekly club meeting where we play improv games, learn acting technique, and prepare for upcoming events. Students can also receive elective credit for involvement in Rex Fleming Players.

EVERYONE is welcome, and all courses of study can benefit from the thinking, performing, and reasoning skills improv can provide.
