The Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT) graciously donated $10,000 to help assist HBU students who were affected by Hurricane Harvey. Mr. Ernest Dagohoy, BGCT Houston area representative, visited campus during a convocation (chapel) service to present a check on the behalf of the organization and its executive director, David Hardage.

“This gift is an affirmation that Houston Baptist University and the BGCT have enjoyed a great partnership,” Dagohoy said. “It’s my prayer that God will continue to use this institution to shape good citizens of this world and faithful citizens of the Kingdom of God.”

Dr. Robert B. Sloan, HBU president, thanked Dagohoy and the BGCT, and said the gift helped a group of students to continue their education at HBU.
