HBU Partners with the Neuhaus Education Center for Special MEd Offering

The Houston Baptist University College of Education and Behavioral Sciences is partnering with the Neuhaus Education Center, a nonprofit organization devoted to reading success, in offering the Master of Education with Specialization in Reading (with the possibility of obtaining the Reading Specialist Certification and Dyslexia Practitioner Level 1 Certification).

Campus reading specialists and dyslexia practitioners serve as resources to students, parents, teachers and administrators. They help students to acquire communication and literacy skills by offering various approaches to struggling readers and those identified with dyslexia.

Dr. Julie Fernandez, interim dean of the HBU College of Education and Behavioral Sciences, said, “This program equips educators to help students establish a strong foundation in reading, which will serve them well throughout their educational careers and lives.”

The MEd with Specialization in Reading is one of 15 graduate education programs that HBU offers.
