Dr. Steven L. Jones, Chair of HBU’s Dept. of Classics and Biblical Languages, gave a lecture on “An Apologia for Classical Studies” at Trinity Classical School in Houston on Feb 1, 2018. The lecture sought to answer a frequently voiced objection “Why Study Latin? No one speaks it anymore” by demonstrating Latin’s ability to help students understand the world they live in and to equip students for success in their chosen vocation.
