Dr. Encarnacion (Encarna) Bermejo, associate professor of Spanish, was a panelist at the XVIII International Congress of ALFAL on July 28, 2017, in Bogota, Colombia. The topic of the symposium panel was “Linguistics Structures,” and Dr. Bermejo presented her paper titled “A Developing Verbal System in the Student’s Writing of Spanish as a Heritage Language”. At the conference, Dr. Bermejo also participated in a course by Dr. Uli Reich from Berlin University.
