Dr. Renata L. Nero, chair of the Psychology department and director of Graduate Studies in Psychology, was one of several honorees inducted into the Ashley Jadine Foundation Hall of Fame in recognition for her work in suicide prevention and awareness. The recognition took place at the Shining Star Gala which was held at the Buffalo Soldiers National Museum on Saturday, September 16, 2017. Since spring 2014, the psychology department has hosted the Sharon K. Burrows conference in collaboration with the Ashley Jadine Foundation to educate parents, educators, mental health professionals and other community partners about ways to foster resilience in children and adolescents. The next Sharon K. Burrows conference is scheduled to take place at HBU on Saturday, April 14, 2018.
