Dr. Jackie Peltier Horn, Chair and Professor of Biology, attended The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center UTHealth Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS) STEM research workshop to promote and enhance diversity in the biomedical sciences on March 24, 2017. The graduate school hosted this opportunity to discuss the school’s diversity initiatives and their recruitment and retention process for historically underrepresented minorities. Meetings and tours of the graduate school and facilities focused on providing information about GSBS, summer research programs, and building a pipeline and establishing a relationship between the GSBS and the students, faculty, and educational administrators of Houston Baptist University.
