Dr. Barbara J. Elliott was invited to speak in the most recent Convocation of the College of Fellows at the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology in Oakland, CA. In celebration of the 800th Jubilee of the Dominican Order, the Fellows gave multi-disciplinary consideration to the stewardship of knowledge across a variety of disciplines and articulated ways in which practitioners fulfill the mission to convert by means of the truth. Dr. Elliott was invited to speak on Tradition and Cultural Innovation through Charitable Ministries, drawing from the research for her book Street Saints: Renewing America’s Cities, and from her experience as the Founder of the WorkFaith Connection. Dr. Elliott has been a Fellow of the DSPT since 2006.
Dr. Elliott was also invited to facilitate a Board Retreat for the Members of the Board of Trustees from Wyoming Catholic College, utilizing the Peter F. Drucker Self-Assessment Tool for Nonprofits. She is certified by the Drucker Institute and was trained by Peter Drucker. She is assisting the WCC Board of Trustees in examining their mission, measurements of their success, and their strategic plan for providing an excellent, Christ-centered college education.
