Research interests include clinical outcomes associated with repetitive, pre-anesthetic fasting in chronically-ill patients, malnutrition outcomes, and post-operative maladaptive behaviors in pediatric patients.
Dr. Santibanez received the 2013 Nurse Anesthesia Program Director’s Award and was named the Memorial Hermann Accelerated PhD Scholar upon entrance to her doctoral program at the UTHealth School of Nursing.
Previous/Current Professional Positions:
Dr. Santibanez remains active in nurse anesthetist professional associations both at the national and at the state level. She has previously served as meeting program co-coordinator, committee co-chair and member in various committees in the Texas Association of Nurse Anesthetists. In addition, she was elected to the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists resolutions committee for the 2014-2015 term.
Personal Interests or Hobbies:
Dr. Santibanez enjoys spending time with her close-knit family, including her husband and infant daughter. She is active in her church and supports various ministries around the world.
