Teaching Focus

Dr. Yarrington’s teaching focus, whether conducting, or working with choral groups, is to build community through excellence in music making.  He has recruited many non-major students to sing. In the fall of 2013, majors and non-majors alike will have opportunity to sing in either the Men’s or Women’s Glee Clubs. Membership is open to the entire campus, including faculty.  The Glee Clubs will not require university registration or a fee.

Dr. Yarrington has written many articles for mainstream journals and has served as a choral clinician across the United States and Canada.  His choral works are published with Augsburg-Fortress, Abingdon Press, MorningStar and Carl Fischer.  He is the author of five books. The most recent, published in 2013, is titled “In Pursuit of Musical Excellence”.
