Awards and Honors
JOHN P. HITTINGER is the founder and director of the Pope John Paul II Forum for the Church in the Modern World (www.JP2Forum.org). he is on the faculty of the Center for Thomistic Studies at the University of St Thomas, Houston and he is a corresponding member of Pontifical Academy of St Thomas (founded by Pope Leo XIII in 1879). He has held faculty positions at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, the College of St Francis in Joliet, Illinois; the United States Air Force Academy, St. Mary’s College of Ave Maria University in Orchard Lake, Michigan, and Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit Michigan. He serves on the board of the Review of Metaphysics. He gave lectures for the college program at Focus on the Family and served on an advisory committee for Dr. Dobson.
Dr Hittinger served as Vice-President for Academic Affairs at The University of St. Thomas, Houston, Tx 2006-2008; Provost and Dean of Faculty at St. Mary’s College of Ave Maria University, Orchard Lake, MI 2001-2003; and Chair, Philosophy and Theology Department College of St. Francis, Joliet, Illinois 1988-1992.
