Teaching Focus

Professor Kirkwood’s primary teaching focus is vocal arts and opera.

Publications

Areas of research and interest include sacred music, literature, and musical aesthetics.

Awards and Honors

Professor Kirkwood has been a soloist at HCU’s Convocation.  He currently holds active membership in the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) and the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS).

Professor Kirkwood was previously an Instructor at Biola University with the Torrey Honors Institute and the Biola Conservatory of Music
Personal interests include reading theology, fiction and classic literature; learning more Greek and Latin; and spending time with his wife and three children.
