Transfer Merit Awards

2023-2024 Merit Awards for HCU Transfers

A new residential full-time transfer student who has earned 15 hours after high school graduation will be considered for the following transfer awards. Post-Baccalaureate and online students are not eligible for transfer or freshman merit awards. Transfer merit awards are applied only to the fall and spring semesters–they cannot be applied towards summer courses. In addition to these awards, there are grants and other scholarship resources available to transfer students.

Provost’s Scholarship for Transfers
$18,000 per academic year
3.5-4.0 cumulative transfer grade point average
Dean’s Scholarship for Transfers
$16,000 per academic year
3.0-3.49 cumulative transfer grade point average
Transfer Grant I
$14,000 per academic year
2.5-2.99 cumulative transfer grade point average
Transfer Grant II
$10,000 per academic year
2.0-2.49 cumulative transfer grade point average
Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
$3,000 per academic year
Member in good standing with Phi Theta Kappa as a new transfer (not dual credit) student to HCU.  The scholarship is stackable on top of the Provost’s, Dean’s, or Transfer Grant. This scholarship is only offered to residential students.
In order to receive this scholarship, please provide a letter (with your H# listed) from your PTK sponsor, which indicates you are a member in good standing to the Financial Aid office prior to the first class day of the semester you will begin enrollment at HCU.

Renewal of Transfer Merit Awards

Recipients of the Provost’s Scholarship and Phi Theta Kappa are expected to maintain a 3.0 cumulative HCU grade point average and full-time enrollment. Recipients of the Dean’s Scholarship and Transfer Grants are expected to maintain a 2.5 cumulative HCU grade point average and full-time enrollment.
