Scholarship Opportunities and Net Price Calculator
There are several automatic scholarships for freshman and transfer students, along with a few scholarships that require additional documents. You should receive a merit award letter a week to two weeks after your acceptance letter.
Please use our online Net Price Calculator to estimate the scholarships and other financial awards that may be available to you. Freshmen scholarships are based on high school class rank from your transcript and on your SAT or ACT score. Our transfer scholarships are based on cumulative college GPA.
Submit your FAFSA
It is highly recommended that you submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), even if you think your family may not qualify for any aid. Students who submit the FAFSA are eligible to receive additional grants, loans, and qualify for work-study opportunities.
Per Texas law, all students under the age of 22 who are attending a new college after January 1, 2012, must have received the meningitis vaccination no more than five years prior to the first day of class. Also, you must have received the vaccination at least 10 days prior to the start of class or campus move-in.
You must provide both proof of the meningitis vaccination and the HBU meningitis form, prior to being allowed to register for classes or move onto campus. Proof of vaccination consists of a copy of shot records with signature of the healthcare professional and the date the shot was administered.
