As a new student, you will need your H number and your HCU OneLogin username to perform many necessary functions. You can locate your H number and username below:

FAFSA and Financial Aid Information

A. Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). HCU recommends that all students, regardless of income level, complete the FAFSA and all subsequently requested information. Students with a completed financial aid file are also assessed for additional institution and state grants.

B. Once you complete the FAFSA, you will receive a financial aid notification starting December 1, with instructions to view and accept your financial aid package on your Huskynet. You can also check your awards below.

C. Don’t forget to schedule a financial aid appointment. Once you receive your award letter schedule a time to meet with one of our counselors to discuss, financial awards, loans, grants.

Financial Aid appointments are designed for admitted students and their families who have already received an award letter for Summer and Fall 2022. These appointments will last 30 minutes and will cover your financial aid awards and estimated direct cost of attendance.

By May 1 for fall entry and November 1 for spring, confirm your enrollment with a $200 non-refundable enrollment deposit, paid with a debit or credit card. This will be applied to your student account. Cash and check payments can be made in person, Husky Central, 7502 Fondren Rd. Houston, TX 77074

Review Your Housing Options

You are eligible to receive a housing application after you satisfy the $200 enrollment deposit.  All freshmen are required to live on-campus and must submit a housing application. Housing applications will be available March 1 for fall entry and October 1 for spring .

Register for “GO” (Get Oriented) Session

Registration for orientation starts March 1 if you are admitted to fall term, May 1  if you are admitted to summer term, or in October 1  if you are admitted to spring term. Learn your way around campus, meet with an academic advisor, spend time with other incoming students and register for classes — it’s all at “GO” and it’s required for all freshmen.

Submit Meningitis Vaccination Form

Per Texas law, all students under the age of 22 who are attending a new college must have received the meningitis vaccination no more than five years prior to the first day of class. In addition, you must have received the vaccination at least 10 days prior to the start of class or campus move-in.

These apply if you plan to apply to nursing after receiving your general admission decision.

Send HCU your Final College Transcripts

All offers of admission are tentative until the Office of Admissions receives your final college or university transcripts. You must make arrangements with your university registrar to send your final transcripts to our office no later than August 1 for fall term and January 6 spring Term.
