Education Practice State Exams

Education Testing 1 – Register Now Education Testing 2 – Register Now

These tests are only open to HBU Education students who have been admitted into the HBU Education Program. A passing score (80% or above) on the Education Practice Exams satisfies the undergraduate degree requirement for Education Majors looking to complete EDUC 4100. These tests also qualify students to take state TExES exams for both undergraduates and graduate certifications.
For each exam, you are given 4 hours to complete, except the Core Subject EC-6 Generalist.

Core Subject EC-6 Generalist: this exam is 5 hours long and each of the domains is timed and strictly adhere to. You will need to pass each of the domains separately before being approved to take the State Exam.  It is highly recommended, if you are taking the entire Core Subject EC-6 Generalist (all 5 domains), you take the exam on a Saturday administration date.

You will be able to retake the each of the domains that you did not pass at a separate administration, but you MUST have taken the entire exam first.  The cost of the new exam will be $30.00 for the entire test and each retake of each domain will be $6.00.

If you are registering to take an Education TExES Practice Exam, prior to registering, you must have a completed a Practice Test Approval Form and submitted it to your Advisor for approval (found in Step 2 below). Your Advisor will submit the form to the Testing Center. If we do not have the Approval Form, you will forfeit your registration fee and you will need to reschedule. No refunds will be given. If you are unable to attend, please e-mail us as soon as possible. Be sure you have read and understood Test Center Policies found on the HBU Testing Website at
