Position Summary

Houston Baptist University (HBU) is seeking candidates for a full-time faculty position to serve as Mock Trial Coach and teach in the University core curriculum.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities as Mock Trial coach will include, but not be limited to: training students in individual and large-group practices, traveling with students to tournaments, conducting weekly practice, helping with recruitment and campus events, and trip planning and budgeting. The candidate should also be able to teach the basic Rhetoric and Public Speaking class as part of the University core curriculum.


Candidates with prior experience in Mock Trial either as a student or coach are preferred.  The position requires a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Speech Communication though a doctorate is preferred.
