Houston Baptist University (HBU) announces a full-time position for Assistant Professor to begin fall 2017. The Department of Psychology is part of the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences. Master of Arts degrees are offered in Psychology, Counseling, and Christian Counseling. The Department also houses the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and the Bachelor of Arts in Pre-professional Art Therapy degree programs.
Strong preparation for teaching graduate level clinical courses that integrate Christianity and psychology is required. Candidates must be licensed as either a psychologist or professional counselor. College level teaching experience, instructional technology skills and the ability to serve on and chair thesis committees for students in the Master of Arts in Psychology – General program are preferred. The successful candidate is expected to teach in another specialty area based on his or her academic preparation. A specialty in either Human Sexuality, Dying and Bereavement, Psychology of Religion or Intimate Relationships is looked upon favorably. In addition to teaching, faculty members are expected to be productive scholars and active in service to students, the College, and the community.
The successful candidate will have completed a doctorate in Psychology.
