Houston Baptist University (HBU) announces a full-time position for Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2018. The Department of Psychology is part of the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences. Master of Arts degrees are offered in Psychology, Counseling, and Christian Counseling. The Department also houses the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and the Bachelor of Arts in Pre-professional Art Therapy degree programs.
Strong preparation for teaching graduate level clinical courses that prepare students for licensure as a licensed professional in school psychology is required. College level teaching experience, instructional technology skills and the ability to serve on and chair thesis committees for students in the Master of Arts in Psychology – General program are preferred. The successful candidate is expected to teach in another specialty area based on his or her academic preparation. Having experience teaching undergraduate psychology courses is looked upon favorably. In addition to teaching, faculty members are expected to be productive scholars and active in service to students, the College, and the community.
The successful candidate will have completed a doctorate in School Psychology and is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist.
