New M.Ed. students to receive iPads

June 26, 2012

The Graduate School at Houston Baptist University has an innovative opportunity this fall for experienced educators interested in pursuing a Master of Education (M.Ed.) to enhance their knowledge, experience and confidence. All students admitted for the first time to the on-campus M.Ed. program for the fall 2012 term will receive an iPad.

“With universities and school districts across the United States implementing use of the iPad in educational settings, the faculty of the HBU School of Education are also exploring its many uses as an instructional tool,” said Dr. Dawn Wilson, associate professor in education. “The iPad can be a powerful resource in the teaching and learning environment, and we want our students to be familiar with its benefits through firsthand experiences using the device as both teacher and student.”

Current teachers and others interested in a master’s degree in education can learn more about the following graduate programs in HBU’s School of Education – and how to receive an iPad – at an information reception for prospective students on Thursday, July 12, at 2 p.m. in the Hinton Center on the HBU campus:
