Prior to forming ATP – where he manages and directs the publicly traded Gulf of Mexico oil and gas company, an entity in the Mediterranean Sea and two related North Sea companies he also founded – in 1991, Bulmahn was president and chairman of Harbert Oil & Gas Corp. In 2000, he was named Entrepreneur of the Year in Energy by Ernst and Young, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers presented him with its Rhodes Petroleum Industry Leadership Award in 2008.
