HBU hosts Wheatstone Academy Conference

6/2/2009

Houston Baptist University will host Wheatstone Academy’s 2009 Summer Conference from July 26-August 1.

Wheatstone Academy transforms the lives of Christian students, ages 16-19, by engaging their minds and hearts in an unparalleled week long experience. Students witness the truth and beauty of Christianity—its power to make sense of the world—and are prepared to flourish in Christ during their university life and study.

“Hosting the Wheatstone Academy Summer Conference at HBU will provide Texas high school sophomores, juniors and seniors an opportunity to grow as leaders, think critically about a Christian worldview and learn from renowned scholars – all while having a fun, life-changing experience,” said James Steen, vice president for Enrollment Management and Student Life.

This year’s conference features John Mark Reynolds Ph.D., Director of the Torrey Honors Institute at Biola University and Gary Hartenburg, assistant professor at California State University, Fullerton, and Louis Markos, Ph.D., professor of English at Houston Baptist University, among many others.
