Graduate Business Career and Networking Fair

Once a year the graduate business programs sponsor the Graduate Business Career and Networking Fair. Representatives from top Houston companies come to the HBU campus to meet and interview graduate business students. The evening includes a panel of experts who present the latest information on job interviewing techniques and trends in the employment marketplace. For more information, please contact Danya Wilde at dwilde@hbu.edu.

HBU Career Center

The Career Center offers students and alumni web-based job searching, recruiting events, job search counseling, mock interviews, and career seminars. The HBU Career Center offers more than just job placement services. The experienced career development professionals of the Center also help graduate business students develop career management skills. In addition, professional counselors are available for students and alumni.

Internship Program

The internship program is designed to provide students the opportunity to gain invaluable experience in the Houston business community. Interns receive academic credit while working for a sponsoring corporation in a career-appropriate position. This practical approach is an educational partnership which gives the student a chance to apply the knowledge he or she has acquired from texts and classroom discussions. The business community in Houston provides the graduate business students with numerous and diverse alternatives for exploring career opportunities. Corporate sponsors interview the prospective interns just as they would interview prospective employees. Interns are then matched to job positions that best meet the needs of both the intern and the organization. It is not uncommon for sponsoring corporations to offer full-time employment opportunities to students once they have completed their internship commitment. For more information, please contact Kellye Brooks at kbrooks@hbu.edu.
