The following are events we are offering during the academic year 2012-2013.  As dates for these events are confirmed, we will update this page.  For more details please contact Career and Calling.
  • HBU Spring Job Fair- Career and Calling provides area employers and students from all majors an opportunity to meet, interview and network with some of the outstanding companies in the Houston area that are offering top positions to HBU students. This is tentatively planned for Thursday, February 21, 2013.  Save the date with details to follow!
  • Fall Internship Fair - This will be Wednesday, October 17, 2012 in the McNair Hall where agencies offering internships will be invited to reach our students and alumni.  
  • On-Campus Workshops
  • Business Etiquette Dinner - Please make plans to attend this special event on Thursday, April 4 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm in Dillon 2.  Mrs. Pat Goettsche, who is an etiquette professional, will teach us the principles of social and professional behavior which can improve one's presence and confidence in a professional setting.  Business attire is expected.  The cost for the evening, which includes a full course meal and materials, is $15.00 per person.  We do have a limited number of partial scholarships available.  There will be items given away as well that will enhance the journey into your professional career.  Please RSVP with Colette Cross at ccross@hbu.edu by March 27.  Secure your reservation quickly because seating is limited.  The evening is sponsored by the International Business Association and Career & Calling.   • Texas Job Fair - HBU is part of The Houston Area Consortium of Career Centers.  Once every four years we host the Texas Job Fair on our campus.  The 2013 Texas Job Fair, one of the largest career fairs for college students in our city, will be held at Texas Southern University on April 2, 2013 from 10:00 am -3:00 pm.  Transportation will be provided from HBU to TSU for this event.  Bring lots of resumes!!  To check out the list of participating employers click here.
