Thank you for your interest in Houston Baptist University graduate programs. The Graduate School is excited you have chosen to take this next step in your education. Once you have submitted the online application refer to the Graduate Program Admission Requirements to review the items needed to complete your admission file.

General Graduate School Requirements:
  • Submit official transcripts. Official transcripts should be sent directly to The Graduate School from the college or university that awarded your bachelor's degree and any additional coursework taken since that time.
  • Submit Recommendation Forms. Please visit the Graduate Program Admission Requirements page for specific information on the type of recommendations needed for your program of interest. Download the recommendation form here.
  • Provide a current resume to the Graduate School.
Some programs may require additional application information based on your program of interest. Refer to the Graduate Program Admission Requirements Page for more information.

Supporting documents should be emailed, faxed or delivered directly to the Graduate School.

Application Deadlines:
  • Spring - December 1
  • Summer - May 1
  • Fall - August 1
  **MFA deadline is April 1 - only admits Fall term.
  **MABL only admits Fall and Spring terms.
  **International Student application deadline is at least two months prior to stated deadline

Online Programs
Houston Baptist University may deliver approved programs in a 100% online format to students with residency in Arizona, California, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana (Masters of Arts in Apologetics program only), Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington and West Virginia.



 
Permanent Resident applicants will need to provide a copy of their residency card (front and back).



International applicants interested in applying to the graduate programs will also need to provide:
 
  1. Foreign Transcript Evaluation (a course by course evaluation is required) – See Approved Evaluation Companies
  2. International Processing Fee – required for admission consideration
  3. TOEFL/IELTS, in addition to the following immigration documents:

 

For F-1 students transferring from a US institution:

  • Copy of valid passport with issue and expiration date
  • Copy of Visa
  • Copy of I-94 (front and back)
  • Copy of I-20
  • Foreign Student Advisor’s Report
  • Financial Affidavit with supporting documents

 

For F-1 seeking students:

  • Copy of valid passport with issue and expiration date
  • Financial Affidavit with supporting documents

 

For other International Visas

  • Copy of valid passport with issue and expiration date
  • Copy of Visa
  • Copy of I-94 (front and back)
