Teaching Focus
Dr. Barksdale’s primary teaching focus is human resource management and leadership. He also teaches courses in organizational theory and organizational change.
Publications
He has published in The Academy of Management Journal; Journal of Personality and Social Psychology; and other journals. Topics include leadership, human resource management topics, pedagogies, and faith in the workplace.
Awards and Honors
In his first year at HBU, Dr. Barksdale serves as lead faculty in the School of Business on social media initiatives and as Director of HR programs.
He has received awards in teaching and research excellence while serving at other institutions including best paper based on a dissertation, best empirical research project. Dr. Barksdale has worked with multiple organizations including American Express, Delta Airlines, AutoZone and many other small to mid-sized organizations. He speaks frequently on the topic of leadership and organizational change.
