Teaching Focus
Dr. Wiseman's teaching interests are economics and statistics with an added focus on improving the students' ability to learn.
Additional Information
While at HBU, Dr. Wiseman has served on committees for the Library, Institutional Effectiveness, Student Affairs Advisory, Research and Development Council, and Editorial Policy. She is a strong advocate of the School of Business Study Abroad program, having traveled with the student groups on three of the first four trips. She was named HBU Faculty Woman of the Year in 2000 by the Association of Women Students. She also received the Opal Goolsby Outstanding Teaching Award in 2003 and the Christa McAuliffe Excellence in Teaching Award from the West Houston Chamber of Commerce in 2004. She was named Outstanding Adviser for HBU for 2005 and received national recognition with a Certificate of Merit in that category by the National Academic Advisors Association.<br />

Dr. Wiseman's community activities have included: Brookwood Volunteers, supporting the Brookwood Community for physically challenged adults; Vice President of the Board of Directors of the YWCA of El Paso (the largest YWCA in the country); Chairman, Residential Division, United Way of El Paso; and President, Volunteer Bureau of El Paso.<br />

Dr. Wiseman is married and has two daughters and two grandchildren. Apart from her love of teaching, Dr. Wiseman enjoys exercise, reading and travel in her free time.
