Career
If you want to study law, seek public office, or influence public policy, then we are interested in you.
Maybe you want to influence business-related legislation as a legislative advocate or lobbyist. Maybe you have a heart for defending justice. Maybe you are called to be a public leader.
The study of Government here at HBU addresses the fundamental issues that we face as a democratic-republic. Our curriculum is designed to help you think about the sort of policy issues that legislators and statesmen struggle with.
We help you develop skills to analyze problems, synthesize answers from a variety of data and sources, argue effectively for a position, and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
We want you to be a problem-solver and a leader.
There are ample opportunities for you to hone your skills through the
Mock Trial and
Speech & Debate clubs.
Law School
Our
pre-law program was designed by attorneys to help you get into and succeed in law school.
The curriculum is flexible to allow you to specialize. You can take courses in Government and several related areas (such as Economics, History, and Communications) to get the skills and background you need to do well in the study of law.
