HBU Speech and Debate Club
The purpose of the speech and Debate Club is to develop member's speaking and critical thinking skills through participation at speech and debate tournaments. Opportunities in
Individual Events include: Persuasion, Informative, Extemporaneous, After Dinner, Impromptu, Prose, Rhetorical, Criticism, Poetry, and Dramatic Duo.
Parliamentary Debate, a two-on-two extemporaneous debate is also offered. Speech and Debate hone not just speaking and rhetorical skills, but also memorization, critical thinking, analysis, organization, humor, and poise. All HBU students are welcome to attend our meetings.
