Greetings from the Guild President

What an exciting time this is for the Guild as we enter our 39th year and what a privilege it is to continue the legacy of the dedicated Christian women who laid the foundation for our mission. The Guild has changed the lives of many scholarship recipients, and this would not have been possible without your continued support. To date, the Guild has provided 178 annual and 29 endowed scholarships to graduate educators, and most recently to theology students, in HBU’s Schools of Education and Theology. This amounts to more than $1.5 million contributed by the Guild for these scholarships, special projects and The Guild Institute in Christian Family Studies.

As a graduate of HBU, it is a double blessing for me to serve with you in helping Dr. Sloan promote the growth and development of this University. I encourage you to bring your family and friends to the various events scheduled on campus this year. It is amazing to see all the progress and great things happening on campus!

“To God be the glory, great things He hath done!”

We have a hard working, talented and very dedicated Board which is eager to serve and do God’s work. I ask that you keep them in your prayers as they seek guidance and direction in achieving their goals.

Thank you for the extraordinary honor to serve as your president for another year! And now, as we prepare for a new year, I am once again emphasizing service. Each of us has a talent that can be useful unto the Lord, and I have witnessed firsthand the eagerness from you, individually and collectively, to serve in a manner that we know is pleasing to Almighty God. I have witnessed your passion for the Lord and your passion for HBU and for The Guild. The scripture I have chosen for this year expresses that passion for serving. Trust that the Lord will empower you to do whatever He calls you to do … and He will see to it that you are properly equipped and trained … for God is actually the One whom we serve.

In His Love and Service,

Debra Perich
